Get ready to run! On Saturday, June 7, 2014 please join VNA & BWH as we run for health, hope, and heart during our 29th annual River Run in Marysville. This is our main fund raising event for the year and the success of the event is contingent on community support and patronage. Whether you are a runner, walker, donor, or major sponsor, we encourage you to get out and enjoy the beautiful summer weather with us during this fun day of fund raising!

Registering for the event is simple and straightforward. Many runners and walkers choose to register online and, since you’re here on the site, why not sign up right now?!? Events: 5K Run | 10K Run | 3 Mile Walk


Visiting Nurse Association and Blue Water Hospice is proud to host its 29th annual 5K-10K River Run and 3-Mile Walk. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2014.

This year our race will start and finish at the Blue Water Hospice Home in Marysville, Michigan. Participants can look forward to a mash tent, raffle prizes, awards, snacks, beverages, chip timing, good competition and lots of fun!


PRE-REGISTRATION: The pre-registration entry fee is $25.00 for adults, $15 for youth (12 and under) who register on or before Thursday, May 29,2014. Pre- registered participants will receive a t-shirt and pre-registration gift. The entry fee for participants who register after Thursday, May 29,2014 is $35 (adults) and $20 (youth). Participants who register after May 22nd are not guaranteed a t-shirt or pre-registration gift.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION: Race day registration is $35.00 and will be available between 6:30-7:30AM. Race day registration will end promptly at 7:30AM.

PAYMENT OPTIONS: The proceeds received from this year’s event will benefit the Blue Water Hospice Home. Registration and entry fee for the VNA & BWH 5K-10K River Run and 3-Mile Walk are accepted online, by mail, phone, collecting pledges or by joining or forming a team!

PLEDGES: All participants have the option to have their registration fee waived by collecting $50.00 or more in pledges. Pledges can be submitted prior to race day at the VNA & BWH Office located at 1430 Military Street, Suite A, Port Huron, MI 48060 or on race day between 6:30AM-7:30AM. RIVER RUN TEAM CHALLENGE: The 5K-10K River Run will offer area community members and local businesses the opportunity to form a team to fundraise for the 2014 River Run. All team members’ registration fees will be waived. Proceeds will support the Blue Water Hospice Home. START TIME: The 10K Race will start PROMPTLY AT 8:00AM, the 5K Race will start PROMPTLY AT 8:10AM, and the 3-Mile Walk will start PROMPTLY AT 8:15AM.

INFORMATION PACKAGE: Pre-registered participants can pick up their information package on Thursday, June 5, 2014 and Friday, June 6, 2014 between 9:00AM–5:00PM at VNA & BWH, located at 1430 Military Street, Ste A, Port Huron, MI 48060, Phone 810.984.4131. Pre-registered participants may also pick up their information package on race day between 6:30AM-7:30AM. Information packages must be picked up in order to participate in the event.


  • No one under 9 years of age will be allowed to participate in the 10K run.
  • No pets are allowed on the race course.
  • Jogging strollers are allowed in the race course, but must start behind all other participants.
  • We will be unable to delay the start of the race for late entries.

AWARDS: Awards are given by age groups for the first, second and third place male and female finishers of the 5K and 10K races in the following groups:

5K RUN: 8 & Under, 9-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

10K RUN: 9-13, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

OVERALL WINNERS: Awards will be given to the male and female first place finishers (best overall time) in the 5K and 10K run.

MASTERS WINNERS: Awards to male and female first place finishers (best overall time, age 40 and above) in 5K and 10K run.

RACE RESULTS: All runners will receive their individual race results via mail following the run. Race results will also be posted online at

The START and FINISH of the race are located on Edison Drive, at the Blue Water Hospice Home, next to the green Observatory. The road is part of the course; do not park here or your car will be trapped here during the entire event.

DIRECTIONS: Take 1-94 to Marysville/Gratiot Road Exit and turn East. Turn right on Range Road to Cuttle. Turn left on Cuttle to M-29/Busha Highway, Turn right on M-29/Busha Highway to Willis.
